Within Logiwa, setting up your Serial Number is done on the Item level. For any given item, you can set it up so that you are able to scan their serial numbers during your operations.
You can set up your Serial Numbers in two ways:
- Through the Serial No tab on your Items page
- Through the Item Import Excel Template to upload multiple serial numbers
You can manage serial numbers in two ways:
Method #1: Track Serial Number On Receiving and On Shipment
If you use this setup for an item, once you scan the item’s barcode, you must scan the serial number on both the Mobile Receipt and Order Packing screens
Below are the parameters you must set in order to use this operation:
- Mandatory: TRUE
- Skip During Receipt: FALSE
- Skip For Issue: FALSE
When creating the serial number for an item, you must make sure that the serial number does not equal any of the following:
- Item Code or Item Barcode
- Receiving Location Code
- Receiving LP Code
- Receiving Order Code
If the serial number is equal to any of the above, you will see a warning message like:
- ”The serial number entered is not valid. Serial Number cannot be equal to Item Code: ..."

Method #2: Track Serial Number Only on Shipment
If you use this setup, once you scan the item barcode, you must then scan the serial number on the Order Packing screen.
Here are the parameters you must set in order to use this operation:
- Mandatory: TRUE
- Skip During Receipt: TRUE
- Skip For Issue: FALSE
Notes:
Logiwa does NOT track serial numbers within the inventory. It is only possible to know which serial numbers are received and which serial numbers are shipped.
It is NOT possible to allocate a certain serial number for or order, however, you can scan any serial number during Packing.
It is NOT possible to know the location of a serial number, however, it is possible to know which warehouse it is located.
REPORTS
Reports> Receipt Reports > Receipt Serial
With this report, you can see all the serials numbers that have been received. In addition, there are many filters you can use in the report.
Screen Path: Reports → Shipment Reports → Shipment Report Serial
With this report, you can see all the serials numbers that have been shipped.
