When you are picking items if you notice that some of the items are missing you can use the Missing button below.
This button transfers the missing item to a virtual location that is defined in the warehouse setup page and automatically reserves another item (which is the same as the missing one) from available stock. If there is a virtual location, the missing items are transferred and kept in a virtual location (which is defined as no picking to prevent allocation in the location setup).
- Logiwa checks if there is available inventory that can be allocated from another location. If yes, it allocates the inventory from that location, assigns the same job code, and transfers the missing item into the warehouse's virtual location. Then, you can count the virtual location and delete missing items from stock.
- If there is no available inventory, the Logiwa doesn't do anything with the task, just shows missing on OrderPicking/PickansSort/PickAndSortByTote screen Description field.
- In case of missing an item that has a substitute item related with, Logiwa checks if there is available substitute inventory that can be allocated. If yes, it allocates the inventory from the location where the substitute item's stock is, assigns the same job code, and transfers the missing substitute item into the warehouse's virtual location. Then, you can count the virtual location and delete missing items from stock. You can get more information about the substitute item process via this article.
When the missing button is clicked and cannot find any available stock for the picking task, the error message appears at the end of the picking task.
You can manage missing items' tasks from the Warehouse Task Processing Screen with the Show Only Missing Items toggle. Missing info is kept on the Note filed. You can delete missing items' tasks if you want.
