Inventory Sharing is a process of sharing inventories between the stores depending on the defined percentage. By defining the inventory sharing percentage on Logiwa, inventory information can be managed. Depending on your Inventory Sharing percentage the quantity of the items is changed throughout the stores. Inventory Sharing percentage should be a numeric number. A decimal number is not acceptable. If the quantity of the item is odd, the quantity of the item is rounded down.
Inventory Sharing can be managed in two ways:
- Store-based inventory sharing.
- Item-based inventory sharing.
NOTE: Both models can be generated at the same time but item-based inventory sharing is prioritized over store-based inventory sharing.
For example: If the inventory sharing percentage is 5% for an item and this item is available in that store. The inventory sharing percentage is 25% for the store, the inventory sharing percentage is 5% for that item depends on the priority.
1) Item-based inventory sharing
Inventory Sharing percentage should be added on the listing ChannelID field on the item screen or simply excel document can be imported.
Screen Path: WMS-> Setup-> Item Setup-> Item
Listing ChannelID:
Item Import Template:
Then the inventory info will be sent to the related store by using the item based sharing percentage.
If the inventory sharing percentage is entered decimal on the Excel document, it gives the below error on the screen. In order to fix the problem, please enter a numeric value on the Inventory Sharing Percentage field. Because decimal numbers are not allowed.
2) Store-based inventory sharing
Inventory Sharing percentage should be added on the Store management screen. Inventory sharing can be defined for a store or multiple stores on the Store Management screen at the same time.
Screen Path: Entity-> Store Management
Then the inventory info will be sent to the related store by using the store-based sharing percentage.
Examples:
1) Only item-based inventory sharing is defined
If the quantity of the item is 47,
- The inventory sharing percentage is 50% on the item screen for item i01.
The quantity of the item is 23 on Shopify because the quantity of the item is rounded down.
2) Only store-based inventory sharing is defined
If inventory sharing is defined for only one store and the quantity of the items i01 and i02 are 47,
- The inventory sharing percentage is 50% on the store management screen for Shopify.
- The inventory sharing percentage is 1% on the store management screen for Quickbooks.
The quantity of the item i01 is 23 on Shopify because the quantity of the item is rounded down.
The quantity of the item i02 is 0 on Shopify because the quantity of the item is rounded down.
3) Item-based and store-based inventory sharing are defined at the same time
If the quantity of the item is 47,
- The inventory sharing percentage is 50% on the item screen for item i01.
- The inventory sharing percentage is 5% on the store management screen for item i01
The inventory sharing percentage is 50% because it is prioritized and the item quantity is 23 on Shopify because the quantity of the item is rounded down.
