On your daily routine within the warehouse, you may need to scan the LP code, item barcode, quantity, even expiry date, and/or lot batch number if your operation requires them.
To eliminate the extra scanning steps and make these processes faster, you can use QR codes (2D barcodes) instead of one-dimensional barcodes.
Benefits of QR Codes,
- Helps speed up the scanning process
- QR codes have smaller sizes and occupy less space
- Reduce extra efforts for scanning processes. Because you can group all required information in one QR code and scan it
To use QR Codes on Logiwa,
- Your package should be an Enterprise package
- You need to have a device that is able to scan QR codes
- You need to create the QR codes before mobile operations
NOTE: If you want to use the QR code scanning function please contact support@logiwa.com. They will inform you about the pricing details and complete the setup for you.
What is Available?
After defining your QR code rules into the system, you can start using them on the below screens. The pre-defined rules should be completed first to be able to distinguish which QR code value indicates to which field on Logiwa.
For example, you may want to use a QR code that includes LP code, Item Code, and Quantity. Let's say the QR code is designed with this formula: LPCode~ItemCode~Quantity
That means, on your QR codes, your separator will be the ~character and we will set the rules based on that. When you scan the QR code, we will know how to use them.
Scanning QR Codes During Receiving
While receiving the inventories, you can use QR codes to eliminate extra scanning. You can scan your QR code on the Item Barcode field and the system knows everything about it.
For example, when you scanned a QR code that includes the necessary information (e.g. LP123~SKU123~30) the system completes the receiving for the SKU123, the quantity is 30 and this inventory will be created on the LP123.
Scanning QR Codes During Putaway
While doing putaway for an inventory that has a QR code above, you can scan this code to find the item.
NOTE: On the putaway screen, the QR codes are only used to find the item that will be transferred. Even if the QR code includes other information such as LP code, quantity, expiry date, these values are not used automatically.
Scanning QR Codes During Picking
On the Mobile - Picking screen, if you are doing Full LP Picking, you can scan the QR code on the LP scanning page and the system completes the picking for that LP and item automatically.
NOTE: If you are picking the items instead of full LPs, the QR codes are only used to find the item that will be picked. Even if the QR code includes other information such as LP code, quantity, these values are not used automatically.
