A lot number is an identification number assigned to a particular quantity or lot of material from a single manufacturer.
You can manage the Lot Numbers in two ways:
- Defining the Lot No tab on your Item's page.
- Through the Item Import Excel Template to upload multiple lot numbers.
1. Defining the Lot No on the Item Page
If required for the item, the lot number can be defined for the item client base. You can define in which process you want to use the item lot number.
Screen Path: WMS → Item Setup → Item
Method #1: Track Lot Number On Receiving and On Shipment
The parameters you must set in order to use Item Lot operation:
- Mandatory: TRUE
- Skip During Receipt: FALSE
- Skip For Shipment: FALSE
But of course, that depends on what function you want to use.
Method #2: Track Lot Number Only on Shipment
If your operation requires to use of the Lot Number information on the packing process, It is enough to use the "Skip For Shipment" and "Mandatory" parameters.
- Mandatory: TRUE
- Skip For Receipt: TRUE
- Skip For Shipment: FALSE
- Skip For Inventory: FALSE
But of course, that depends on what function you want to use.
Notes:
Logiwa can track the lot numbers within the inventory. It is possible to know which lot numbered items are received and which lot numbered items are shipped.
It is possible to allocate a certain lot number for the order, however, you can scan any lot number during the picking process too.
At any level of the process, it is possible to know the location of a lot number.
2. Importing via Excel with The Lot Number
You can import the lot number of detailed items using the Excel Import template.
Warning Messages During the Operations
If you do not receive an item with Lot Number through the "Skip For Receipt" parameter is enabled, you will see the error message like the below screenshot.
Also, if you have a Lot Number for the item but you do not enter Lot No combo box, you will see the error message like the below screenshot.
Reports
Lot Number tracking from the Receipt Report
Screen Path: WMS → Reports → Receipt Reports → Receipt Report
With this report, you can see all the lot numbers that you have received.
Lot Number tracking from the Inventory Report
Screen Path: WMS → Reports → Inventory Reports → Inventory Report
With this report, you can see all the inventories lot numbers which exist.
